The World Bank announced the release of a $ 200 million fund to assist West African countries are facing an unusual spread of virus Ebolas.
Of this amount will benefit the governments of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and the structures of the World Health Organization operating in the field.
World Bank announcement arrives at a time when 35 African leaders are in Washington to discuss with U.S. officials the unprecedented crisis.
"I am deeply sorry for the spread of the virus and how it is affecting the health systems of three poor African countries," said World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, infectious diseases expert at the same time.
He said that the epidemic must be stopped in its tracks to prevent the loss of other lives.
While Nigeria recorded the second case of the disease and Liberia, the country most affected and with the highest number of deaths ordered the burning of the bodies of persons who have died of Ebola. This decision was taken after refusing to allow local communities to bury their lands.
Ebolas virus passed from bats to humans. The first sign of infection is tired of it. It is not transmitted by air or food, but only through infected blood or other body fluids of a person affected by it.
