Didier Drogba has announced his retirement from the national team of Ivory Coast in order to leave the "land of youth and build a team for the coming years."
"There comes a point that you must leave. It is a difficult decision because I know what I can give to the squad, but when you do not feel the confidence of others, must cease. I am available to my country, but not to play, "Drogba said in an interview to 'Canal Plus'.
Center-forward has played 106 matches with Ivory Coast scoring 66 goals. He participated in the 2006 World Cup, in 2010 and 2014, but has never won titles with his national team.
