James Brady, former press secretary in the White House is separated from life at the age of 73. Brady was severely wounded, being shot in the head during an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.

The family announced the death of Brady-t after an undisclosed illness. He served in three Republican administrations, while left paralyzed after being wounded in an assassination attempt against the President.

James Brady was a supporter for a tighter control of arms and lobbied for the law, which was signed in 1993 and took his name. In 2000, then-President Bill Clinton's office decided to press conferences named James Brady.
