Ebola, Liberia declares state of emergency

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has declared a state of emergency for 90 days after the outbreak of the deadly virus Ebolës.

Sirleaf said that it is necessary to take extraordinary measures to get out of this situation is extremely grave and dangerous. He added that poverty, culture and religious practices continue to impact negatively on the spread of the disease.

Experts of the World Health Organization are holding a meeting in Geneva to discuss the situation created by the outbreak of the virus in some African countries. In the two-day meeting will be deciding whether to declare a global health emergency.

Ebola is one of the deadliest diseases known to humans. About 90% of affected individuals fail to survive. So far has killed more than 930 people in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
