Egypt, killed five policemen at a checkpoint

At least five policemen and four suspected smugglers have been killed after a shootout in Tuesday north of Egypt. 

Security forces announced that police tried to stop a vehicle, which was suspected of transporting weapons and explosives. The event took place in Marsa Matrouh province, in a coastal area, which is quite populated during this period. 

After the overthrow of President Mohamed Mursi, Egypt was hit by an Islamist insurgency, mainly in the Sinai Peninsula near Israel.
