Thousands of Christian faith in Iraq have fled their homes since the Islamic militant group took possession ISIS and another part of northern Iraq.
The city housed about 50,000 Christians and is located in the southeast of the city of Mosul.
An international Christian organization said that at least a quarter of their believers have fled after receiving numerous threats related to change their religion from Christian to Islam and that such action would not take place, then ISIS will take measures to strict to them.
Authorities say people trysnuar therefore felt forced to leave the city of Qaraqosh. ISIS has seized large parts of Iraq and Syria to establish an Islamic caliphate. Iraq for many years has been home to one of the oldest communities of Christians in the world, but the figures show that the number of believers has fallen because there is increased sectarian violence since the US-led invasion in 2003.
