"Malaysia Airlines' expected total nationalization

The state investment firm in Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional, has proposed taking control entirely national airline "Malaysia Airlines".

Khazanah wants to buy shares, which currently does not own, the "Malaysia Airlines" and withdraw from listing on the stock exchange operator and airline flights.

The company has been hit by two major tragedies recently, MH17 flight crash in Ukraine and the disappearance of flight MH370 in the Indian Ocean. Two incidents have raised concerns about the future of the airline.

Khazanah, which currently owns 69.4% of the shares, has offered 0:27 ringgit (Malaysian currency) per share, for the remainder beyond its control, and an additional 12.5% to the closing price on the stock exchange during the Thursday.

Trading of the shares of "Malaysia Airlines" was suspended on Friday, before the declaration of this initiative.

Flight MH370 went missing on March 8, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, sparking a massive search and rescue operation, which is still ongoing and can cost millions of dollars. Most of the passengers on that flight was from China.

The crisis led to a high number of flight cancellations and damage the reputation of the airline, including a drop of 60% in sales in China.

Later, another blow in July, when 298 people aboard the flight MH17 died after plane crash in the East region of Ukraine, near the border with Russia. The company has been at a loss for years, and its market value has dropped by more than 40% during the past 9 months.
