Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, threatened with retaliation over Tuesday, after the difficulties of a branch of the airline "Aeroflot" because of EU sanctions, as a newspaper reported that flights from Europe to Asia, which pass over Siberia may be prohibited.
Low cost carrier "Dobrolyot", which operated from "Aeroflot", suspended all flights in the past week, after the lease agreement for the company's airspace was canceled due to EU sanctions, just because it company has taken flight in Crimea, a region annexed by Ukraine in March, from Moscow.
"We will discuss the possible retaliation," Medvedev said at a meeting with Russian Minister of Transport and Deputy / Chief Executive of "Aeroflot".
The daily "Vedomosti" reported that Russia may ban all European airlines, pass over Siberia, to go further in various Asian countries, a move that would add more cost airlines, as travel will got longer and will need more fuel supply.
"Vedomosti" quoted unnamed sources, have said that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transport were discussing future actions that would put European airlines at a disadvantage to their Asian rivals, but that would be a cost well for its Russia, which collects more revenue from flights over its airspace.
