Some of the biggest names in music have teamed up to honor the work of doctors and nurses in the fight against coronavirus, worldwide. Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish, the BBC reports, are among the 100 artists who will perform from the living rooms, in their homes. The Rolling Stones even managed to get together, even though they shared apartments in the areas where they live.
The 8-hour show, which airs tonight, will also include short reports from real-life healthcare workers who are on the front lines of the battle with Covid-19.
Lady Gaga, who has been dealing with the cure, called the event; "A love letter to the world." She said the idea is for us to give doctors and nurses a little bit of the tenderness and love they have given us these days.
Paul McCartney joined the initiative after calling those who serve health today as true heroes, always admiring his mother, who was a nurse during World War II.
Entitled "One World", the concert is organized by the movement, Global Citizen, and the World Health Organization.
It will all start with clips from the applause of people on the balconies for doctors and nurses. These are impressive moments from Italy, Spain, France, Britain, America and everywhere else.
The money that will be raised from this event will go to the solidarity fund, created by the WHO, however, Lady Gaga made it clear that the purpose of the concert is first and foremost a message of solidarity and fun in these difficult times, and not money collection.
The first to sing is American Andra Fay from her apartment. One Direction leader Niall Horan follows. There will also be John Legend with Sam Smith, and Billie Eilish. Further Rolling Stones.
Albanian star Rita Ora is not missing, who before singing one of her hits, will ask her followers to stay safe at home and follow her medical advice.
The concert will be divided into two parts. A 6-hour pre-show that will be live on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube; followed by the main part, 2 hours, which will be shown on the main televisions.
Other participants are Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Burna Boy, Luis Fonsi, Hozier and Stevie Wonder. Taylor Swift's performance is also exciting.
This spectacle will end with a divine union of voices of Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli and John Legend, with their version of the song "The Prayer". In Europe, the concert on TV can be seen tonight at 8:15 p.m., and lasts two hours.
