Masks, air filters and greater distance - this is what airplanes will look like in the future

Austria and Germany are preparing to resume flight operations.

Airports have remained closed since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. 16,000 planes are on the ground, many airlines are facing immediate destruction. With the planned easing of measures, there is now new hope that flight operations may also resume slowly, the Telegraph reports.

Below we are giving a summary of how the flight will be possible again, despite the COVID-19 crisis and what measures seem unrealistic.

And it is clear that measures must be taken beyond the confines of these two states.

Austrian and German authorities as well as state aviation associations are already in talks over the measures.

1. Request for passenger mask

According to aviation associations, it would be desirable for passengers to have a mask with them and to be notified during the booking process.

2. Greater distance

More distance when you get inside, but also when you control, and that means the process takes longer. For passengers, this could mean that they have to show up at the airport earlier than before.

3. Air filter on the plane

Air filters will be present on each plane, so that the air inside is much cleaner. Air filters clean it of dust, bacteria and viruses.

4. The place in between will be free

The recent move by airlines to release the middle seat could become the biggest problem in resuming flight operations.

The Austrian Aviation Association warns that large aircraft could lose 30 percent of their cargo due to this major change, while smaller aircraft could lose up to 50 percent of their cargo, resulting in their own revenues. fall, or they raise ticket prices.

5. Tests at the airport

It is clear that people suspected of having coronavirus are not allowed to fly.

Airlines are waiting for a decision from the authorities to allow testing at the airport, but this is also seen as a problematic measure, due to the time these tests take.

6. Cameras for measuring fever and thermal imaging

It is also unclear at the present time whether fevers are measured before arrival on the plane, as is the case with passenger arrivals.

Some airports also use thermal imaging cameras to detect passenger temperature as they pass.
