Protesters with pro-Trump slogans violate social distancing and demand an end to quarantine

Protesters in the US state of Michigan today demanded an end to the economic blockade and strict quarantine rules imposed by Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

With pro-President Trump slogans, some of them had taken up arms, saying that the measures violated their rights, which they had to decide for themselves.

Other demonstrators supported them by getting out of car windows and shouting "get in jail." Traffic was severely blocked in Lansing by people leaving cars to join the protest.

Some said they would rather die of coronavirus than see their small businesses crippled and shut down by the pandemic, which has caused 28,000 infected and 5,000 deaths in Michigan.

The crowds wore not protective masks but automatic rifles and the American Confederate flag. They also showed posters of the upcoming election campaign in favor of Trump-Pence 2020.
The governor criticized the protesters who endangered themselves and others and added that it was ironic that a group of violators became the reason for the postponement of the blocking measures.
The protest was a backlash against Whitmer's executive order last week to extend the blockade until the end of April.
It has banned all work activities, any travel, and even travel to holiday homes.
